I recently purchased a Burris AR332 optic for my Bushmaster. I couldn’t be more pleased with e design and function. The red/green dot are very clear and adjustable. The carbine will drive tacks and I contribute that to the optic, not my shooting ability. If your in the market for an optic at least give it a look/see.
What is the eye relief like on these? I like the scope, but never shot with one.
Pilot, it’s like a normal rifle which is what I like. Our duty M4s with the Aimpoint M2 optic, you almost have your nose to the charging handle which I don’t mind but I really like being 3-5 inches off the scope.
The M2 is not a scope. If you are focusing through it, you’re using it wrong.
many here had high hopes for the AR332, myself included but were disappointed with the finished product. “For show” Picatinny rails surrounding the body are one factor, the dot in a donut reticle is wasted when a ranging with holdover reticule, a la ACOG would have been a better approach and some retailers of this same optic under different names use a ACOG-like reticule. In addition, the built in base limits the mounting options, making this essentially an AR only optic. Burris makes some decent optics, but this one has earned a bunch of "pass"es around here.
kmrtnsn: I know what the M2 is. I’ve been using it ever since the military adopted it and we have been using them on our M4s for years. As far as the Burris is concerned, I like it and that’s about all that matters.
It works for you. Awesome. Enjoy.
I had read a few complaints the reticle was canted. I finally got to check one out and sure enough, the complaints were valid.
I researched them before I bought one, and if I recall correctly those were early production and the issue is fixed. Mine is not canted.
Personally I like mine, though it’s since been replaced my an Aimpoint, which better suits the type of AR shooting I do.

Thanks. For AR’s I prefer 3-5 inches also. Does the AR-322 allow this much I relief or are you saying it is more like a hunting scope where you must be closer?
I would say it’s 3+ I had mine mounted directly in front of a Magpul BUS and found it comfortable and natural to shoot with the stock extended to the third it fourth position.

It allows me to have the 3-5 inches of relief I like. We were qualifying the AFOSI last monday/tuesday on the range and we all played with it, shot it and talked about our likes and dislikes of the scope, I am very pleased with it!!! 3x, red/green, clear as a bell, 2032 battery, will mount on the flat top or carry handle, it just don’t get no better!!
Thanks guys, that is great info. I have a Burris MTAC 1.5-6x40 on my LE6920, and am thinking of going to a smaller scope, or red dot, on another QD mount. This may be an option.
Then you’re probably on the wrong site.
This doesn’t make any sense to me. Why can’t you be “3-5 inches” away from an Aimpoint? It’s unlimited eye relief; just stick it on the rail where you please.
Is the canted reticle an issue when flat top mounting, or just when using the mount in the carry handle mode? I have got mad at a few scopes over the years for being canted, when it really was the specs of the carry handle that were a touch not true.
Ram, I haven’t had any trouble with the reticle being canted. Now the scope on my 10-22 Ruger is but it’s a 3x9 4-plex scope. Just haven’t taken the time to work on it. I took the AR to the range and shot it along side our military issued M-4 with the Aimpoint M2 optic. The Bushmaster was driving tacks and that is in no way due to my shooting ability!! lol My M4 shoots great but I am very pleased with the Bushmaster with the Burris AR 332.
Cool.
A relative got one of those for his ban era , non= FH HBAR Colt.
The mount modifies for carry handle uppers and goes right on.
His was not canted either.
