What’s the general velocity of a 55 gr bullet from a 10.5, 14.5 and 16 bbl. 1/7 twist
Thanks
How accurate is the data?
Looking the data over it looks pretty accurate to me. UMC ball is weak and it shows on that chart.
Do you think all manufacturers 55 gr are close to those numbers
I recently chrono’d some Federal xm193 out of a 10.5 stainless 5R at 78 degrees and it averaged 2755 fps, which is pretty close to the numbers that you’ll typically find on the internet of 2750fps. Interestingly enough, I also tested some Federal RXM556T3 tactical bonded 62 grain and it averaged 2782 fps. Personally, I was surprised to see this load push a 62 gr faster than a 55 gr pill.
Not necessarily.
Are you trying to find specific data on a load? Is there a reason you need a blanket fps range for 5.56 loads? You are gonna see quite some deviations depending on the load.
Just looking for general because I don’t have access to a chronograph I just bought some steel targets Don’t want to ruin them
What type of steel? What ranges are you shooting at?
Ar500 targets. Ranges from 25-100
No, not all. In my experience most are hotter.
