Building Stag Lower - Reliability concerns

I have a Stag lower that has been collecting dust as right after I bought it, I went with a full Colt 6920. Well I have some funds saved up and would like to get a LMT upper for the Stag lower.

I have been following the thread on whether or not one can build up a AR-15 that is as reliable as a Colt or LMT. I’m not worried about the upper, just want to make sure I use the best parts for the lower. Are there any parts kits I should avoid? Any tips or tricks to assemble a well built lower that well hold up? I intend to use this mainly as a back up at classes. I posted here as opposed to some of the “other” sites as I know I well get good advice.

Put a milspec RE on it, use a Stag LPK and you will be good to go.

+1 I have an LMT 16 inch M4 upper on a Stag lower with Stag(CMT) parts that I have polished and a Stag M4 stock with the mil spec buffer tube and H buffer and it is as good in every respect as my 6920 ,and with the right size trigger pins as a bonus. Bravo has what you need at a sharp price . the poney is a better looking roll mark than the stag head ,but the fit finish and function is equal. yea it’s not parked under the FSB and the FSB is not finished as well as the Colt but at the price it is as good as it get’s .
