I like that they have built in mag pouches; the built in pouches on the ATS is nice, but I have tons of pouches so it’s not necessarily a deal breaker. Does anyone know which one is smaller, lighter weight? Which would you choose between the two?
If not these two, then what would you recommend as a chick rig?
Your problem is going to be finding one that will fit her. I’m 5’6" 145-150Lbs and its hard for me to find ones that don’t wrap all the way around me. Try one of the mini chest rigs like the TT mini mav or similar rigs. That’s going to be your best bet for someone her size.
I don’t know of any mini rig with pouches built in. I can look around a bit and see if I can find anything but your probably going to have to have something custom made.
I forgot about the o.s.o.e rig, they are a little more expensive but well worth the price. I have an o.s.o.e MWR chest rig and its extremely well made. If they have them in stock I would get it, as they do their stuff in batches and you could have to wait quit some time if they have to fill a batch before they start filling orders.
Lol yeah I forgot about v-day,you can make her one now and buy one later if it doesn’t work out quit right. But this way you can measure her and make one that you know will fit. I have a hard time finding gear that fits me and im not to small a guy. So I could imagine how hard it would be to find something to fit someone her size. Well good luck hope you can make something that works for her.
Thanks! If I actually go through with the build I’ll keep everyone updated. My buddy has the ATS rig for sale in his shop so I know I could get it for cheap, but I just can’t pull the trigger for some reason.
Buying gear for someone else is a losing proposition especially if they do not share your enthusiam for it.
That said I would have a little heart to heart communication with her about expectations around areas that intersect with your interests. Dont force her to take up something that interests you, but does nothing to “scratch” her interest
When an osoe micro is too much for you to scratch, then I would submit that disposable income is not something that either of you have much to share, why not apply to something that is more situationally appropriate
Why invest in nylon that would not be used to the degree that it should be?
