Build Question

Hello all,

New to the forum and building my first AR. My question is… Radical Firearms? Anyone heard of them? Ive read very little stuff on the company. Nothing bad. I purchased my barrel from them. But ive been second guessing it. My build is mainly Spikes parts with stock, grips and sights being magpul and Geissele rail, gas block and charging handle and later one of their triggers. So the barrel is a 16" mid length socom contour. Whats the diff with the socom contour? And is it any good? Would you guys recommend it? I doubt i can but i’d like to try and re-sell that barrel i have and just grab one from spikes. Any opinions, recommendations are appreciated

I recently did a build using the Radical Firearms 16" Mid-Length, 1:7 Twist, SOCOM Contour, QPQ Melonite barrel. So far, I have only run about 80 rounds through it, but I am impressed with the results for it being as cheap as it was.

You’ll want to “Report” your thread and get the mods to move it for you.

MistWolf is correct.

Thread moved to AR GD.

ROE,

A SOCOM barrel is heavier than a standard government barrel. It’s thicker throughout the whole length. There’s many pros to having a heavier barrel; I’m far from an expert so I won’t try and shovel you sh!t, just do your research.

Good luck,

J
