Build an LMT, or M&P 15X/FT or Daly M4LX?

Hello all, I recently sold my AR15 to my cousin. It was a target model, with bull barrel and match trigger & sights. I want to build or buy a M4 variant to replace it.

I was planning on purchasing LMT upper and Lower, then adding a rail and other goodies when I saw the Daly M4LX and DM4LE models. M&P 15X/F/FT are similar.

How is the value of the M&P and Daly models? They seem to come all decked out with rails and BUIS etc. Are the parts used of good quality? DM4LX says it uses YHM BUIS and quad rails with ACE stock.

I like the LMT SOPMOD stock better. But by the time I add quad rails and other goodies to the LMT I’ll be spending a lot.

Anyone have comments on pros and cons of the pre built quad rail models?

Thanks!
Bill

I own two Colts, a LMT, a RRA, a Noveske, a CD M4LE, a S&W MP15X and a couple home builds. I have been nothing but impressed with the Charles Day M4LE. I have owned S&W’s in the past and the two I had both had issues with the grip screw machined in the wrong spot and the grip wouldn’t line up. They have since fixed this issue but it left a bad taste in my mouth. The CD was perfect of out the box. I would recommend the CD to anyone in the market for a sub-$1000 AR.

I bought an LMT from Grant … I love it.

My suggestin would be to go with an LMT, very high quality rifle, and good customer service if you ever need it.

LMT MRP comes with full rail fore end and quick-change barrel feature:

I’ve got a S&W M&P 15T and absolutely love it.
If you get one that’s serial number is past 50,000, then 90% of all the things that should have been fixed, are.
Get one that’s over 70,000, and it’s perfect. To the best of my knowledge, the only thing different between a 50 and 70K is the switch to pin-on GB’s rather than bolt on, which can vibrate loose.
Mine, either has uncanny accuracy potential, or all 15T’s can easily approach .5 MOA… haven’t seen but one other one at the range, and the boy couldn’t shoot to a .22 LR’s potential, and was having trouble keeping it on paper @ 100yds, so I haven’t found out yet if it’s just mine, or all are like that .
I purchased mine because I wanted a 1/9" twist rifle, since I shoot 69gr. SMK’s the most and wanted a long lifespan. If I wanted a 1/7" rifle, I would’ve definitely went with an LMT. Other than barrel twist, I don’t see a difference between the two as far as quality, accuracy, and dependability are concerned… S&W even uses LMT BCG’s and other parts, the rest is built by S&W, now.

Thanks for the input all. I haven’t bought one yet, but am leaning towards LMT since I can buy the upper and lower seperate to avoid a big cash layout.
