RAS II is solid. Best deal going on a free float quad-rail (even though it is a dated design), KAC quality rail, 3x 11 rib panels, 1x 6 rib panel and VFG, NIB (not a blem model like the drop in RAS) from KAC, $150. The hump won’t matter, going to run an Aimpoint PRO in an ADM low mount on the hump, or an EOTech EXPS 3-2 on the receiver. Either way, no issues.
Still need to add a QD attachment and flashlight mount/Surefire G2 to the rail and shave down the rail panels accordingly,
Can’t wait to get it to the range this weekend and run about 400 rds through it.
Had to revisit this build. It just didn’t seem right with the KAC RAS II. It needed a little something more to make it “right”. The KAC RAS II did not go to waste, as it spawned a new build to go with it (#8).
The Centurion C4 FSP is great! Light weight, very sturdy, easy to mount. I didn’t do the Dremel method, couldn’t bring myself to do it knowing that I had all the tools to do it right and it would probably take about the same amount of time with better results to just disassemble the barrel assembly and remove the snap ring, delta ring, weld spring and end cap. Cost me a new crush washer and maybe 10 min more work.
Optics will have to wait for $$$ (probably going to go with an EOTech EXPS).
Haven’t been able to get to the range, hopefully next weekend.
