Bugging out???

and we have 2 abandoned missle bases with underground bunkers in the area lol

That and pray for no hurricanes. :stuck_out_tongue:

The “off to the islands” scenerio sounds good, but when you get to your eden what do you to when the people who already live there to tell you to piss off and go somewhere else?
I live in north Orange County Ca, my back yard is a park, that might be a good thing, but if the SHTF it might become a place for people to run to. That would not be a good thing. My condo complex is one way in and one way out by car, the park gives access.
If my neighbors and I can’t defend the complex, I could walk about three miles north and be in an area that is an oil well complex and a preserve that is between two towns.
The preserve could hide an army if they were disciplined about hiding, the oil complex has dirt roads and old buildings that would be good cover.
I wouldn’t run blindly in any direction, I would try to stay where I am until it becomes a liability, then I would walk or ride a bike where no one else is going…

We’ve all heard the same story a million time, “I’ll be heading for the hills”! Some may actually attempt do it. Some people have a “Secret Spot” that nobody else knows about. LMAO! So basically, the freeway to the hills will be a parking lot cluttered with broken down/wrecked minivans & soccer mom SUV’s before they even get close tho the hills. The ones who do make it to their secret spot will likely be greeted with a hail of lead by the other guys who have the same secret spot & arrived first. They’ll have an ice chest of food & regualar camping equipment. Once the little Coleman fuel tank for their camp stove runs out & the reality that they can’t hunt like Bear Grylls sets in, they’ll starve at their camp sites. The reality of “Living off the land” for those who already don’t live that way will likely end up with a bad ending. But It’s entertaining to hear the stories though!

I wouldn’t under estimate everyone’s capabilities. Just because I don’t live off the land currently, doesn’t mean that I couldn’t. Just because the freeway is the fastest way there-doesn’t mean I’d take it. That’s where my vehicle that is extremely capable offroad would come in handy. Sure, maybe someone else will know your “secret spot” but a lot of times that is unlikely. The only people that know of mine are very close friends, and they would be welcome to join me. Gardening for food is easy enough, and when you are proficient with a bow and arrow, you have no need to worry about running out of ammo for hunting.

It is entertaining to hear, as some stories are extravagant and the people clearly appear to be incapable of actually surviving on their own. I won’t just write off everyone, though.

Great plan! Sounds like you’ve thought this out very carefully.

Nah, don’t need to :D. Not too worried about it. Even if the time were to come to bug out, I know my situation and what I am and am not capable of. :thank_you2:

The term bug out is what a team or people do when they are in a denied area and have their shit blown or get wind that it’s about too be. It has since been bastardised by hobbyist preppers as a way to make their hording seem legitimate.

Bug out or bug in ???that is the question. Where I live wild land fires can be a great reason to bug out. Where will I go??? Where would I go if my house burned down today? . Bug in or bug out would depend what is happening at the time. Be prepared just like the Boy Scouts teach. The power will be out for 15 days ,I have a generator I am staying. The nuke plant is melting down in 4 hrs,I am leaving.

You know, I remember having a bug out bag when I was in Group back early 90s. How did it come to this?

JUST last night at work I had one schmuck tell me how he was gonna " go live in a cave when they try to come for his guns".
O FUCK do I get tired if hearing this shit from people. But, I cant get into a near knock -down-drag-out every time I hear it, so I just smile and nod. MOST times, anyway.
