My Colt 6450 has a two position stock. Can I drill two more holes evenly spaced to make it a 4 position stock. If i drill all the way through the buffer tube into the spring channel will it have any negative impact on the function of the rifle? Or should I just replace the tube all together with a 4 or 6 position one? Just a note, I don’t have a spanner tool.
Your best option is to get a new tube and endplate. The wrenches aren’t terribly expensive and recommended if you own an AR.
Like IG said, get a new milspec tube and endplate. I bought a Bushmaster spanner wrench(the only thing I will own that says “Bushmaster” on it:sarcastic:) at Wholesale Sports last weekend for $5.99 during their Black Friday sale.
Sounds like that is my best option
