Bud's best selling guns, 2011 vs now

This thread reminded me that I had started this thread a while back. So I decided to get an update…

Seems that we’ve come a looooong way, even if you continue down the list of top sellers it doesn’t get too stupid. So what precipitated this shift in quality? Is it just that decent guns are dirt cheap?

Seems that the trend continues toward compact/subcompact handguns.

Bruh. Taurus made the 2019 list at Nº1. In 2011, Taurus didn’t make the list until Nº9. And the Shockwave is Nº2 (yes, it isn’t a horrible gun within its niche, but I doubt the people who made it hit Nº2 are buying it to fill that niche).

(Although, to be fair, there are seven decent guns on the 2019 list, versus five on the 2011 list. So things have gotten better. Not by a whole lot, though.)

I see 5 acceptable in 2019 vs 1 in 2011.
Not saying everything is else junk, but poor value, especially considering I can predict the types buying these.

Im commenting from a practical pov, where “collecting” is zero value (for the purposes of my comment).

So…basically people buy cheap, and don’t have a clue about anyone other than S&W and Ruger?
The only real difference I see in 2019 is people still can’t buy a decent AR to save their lives… [obligatory M4C comment ]

We should also consider that these are people buying guns from Bud’s as a significant factor. So of all the people dumb enough to purchase from Buds (which is slightly better than Botach), this is the crap they decide to get.

A top 10 from RSR or Davidson’s would probably be better representative of what most gun buyers are buying.

^This.

If we looked at the top 10 foods bought at wall mart as an indication of typical diets, versus top ten foods bought at Natural grocers, you’d see vastly different data points.

Buds is full on Fudd.

Never had any issue with Bud’s, although their shipping can be slow at times.
