Browning Hi-Power work

Hey all, I have an older Mk 1 Browning Hi-Power that I inherited and I’m considering having it sent somewhere to have some work done. It’s in fantastic shape, but it doesn’t run all that well and I could definitely go for some better sights, an improved safety and some checkering of the front and back straps.

Does anybody have any suggestions of who I could use to do this? I’ve looked at heirloom precision’s site, but they are the only ones I’ve been able to find. Thanks!

Doesn’t Cylinder and Slide do work on Hi Powers?

Here is a thread from last year when CDI released a bunch of Hi-Powers (Click Here). There were a few people discussing work to be done and who they chose. Good luck.

Thank you!! That was the thread I was looking for but I could’nt seem to find it

Throw Novak and Don Williams on the list.

Another pistolsmith that does good work with the HP is Jim Garthwaite.

I think Ted Yost is the master of the HP though, if he still taking work.

Last I checked HP had calendar slots available.

Jim Garthwaite for sure.

+1 Don Williams. He does amazing work.

Garthwaite. then Sokol, Novak

I haven’t handled Sokol’s work but a distant relative says he does great works

I have handled Novak’s work and it was amazing. Yost is right there too. Would put my money towards those if I didn’t already have too many projects in the works.
