Brownells tan follower mags gtg?

I’m an NHMTG guy, but have a chance an offer for some tan follower Brownells 30s.

How do they compare to NHMTG?

There are several complaints about the inside having rough edges that catch the follower and FTF.

I have 6 to 10 of those Brownells and like them a lot. They compare quite well with NHMTGs with the Magpul follower IMHO.

Center Industries I’m not so fond of…

Tan, as in the opposite side bullet position followers?

Yup the wrong sided ones.:fie:

I bought a few 2 years ago and have rotated all of them out of service. None of them have functioned 100% and have given me failures to lock back on the last round and failures to feed nearly every time I took them to the range or class. The last one died a violent death from being stomped into the ground and buttstroked before being tossed onto the backstop and put out of its misery. On the other hand I have multiple NHMTG, Colt, and LMT magazines that refuse to fail even when stuffed with mud and dust.

Is it the tan followers or the mag bodies that are out of spec?

I just got some USGI OKAYs with the new tan follower but have not had the chance to test them yet.

The Army also found that the design of the mags have led to poor feeding reliability and are working on changes to the body. I would pass unless you can guarantee it is one of the newly made ones with the changes to the feed lips and mag body.

New mags have a higher front wall and more angled feed lips.
