Does anyone have experience or feed back on the new Brownells 308/7.62 AR 20 round KAC/DPMS pattern aluminum mags?

Curious as well. I have like 4 KAC mags to my name as they are pricey and some pmags and Israeli mags which work for the range but dunno if I would trust the farm to them yet.
Honestly didn’t know these even existed. Would love a review/comparison.
Just got one to try, haven’t done more than cycle some rounds through the rifle (M&P 10) yet. But it looks good.
Reason I ordered it was that it fit my M-14 mag pouches, unlike Magpuls. We’ll see. I expect I’ll be ordering a couple more.
I bought a couple and like them so far.Only have around 60 rounds a piece through them but they function fine.
Has anyone used these in an SR25 yet?
I know they are “only” 20 dollars but I’m leery because part of me wonders what the ‘catch’ is. Either I’m grossly overpaying for KAC magazines or Brownells has compromised somewhere.
A reliable 20 dollar aluminum SR25 mag. I want to believe.
its in no way as sturdy as the kac mag IMO.Once you feel one you’ll instantly notice the weight difference between the two.
The KAC is made of steel, versus the aluminum Brownells. I’ll note that sturdier doesn’t necessarily mean more reliable, given the many issues people have had with the H&K steel magazines.
You know, I think I’ll just stick to Pmags for range mags for the price.
If it is not markedly better than a DPMS mag, no thanks.
Slightly off topic, I know some folks have had issues with HK mags but mine seems ok. I used it in a patrol rifle class and it got banged around but they are not worth 60 dollars. I have some British SA80 mags I got eons ago that do the same thing. Maybe better.
Back in topic, the KAC mag is straight body steel. And it’s like a huge upscale Colt 20 rounder. Pretty hard to mess up a straight mag.
My concern is the longterm durability of the aluminum brownells.
Heavy use. Keeping them topped off and stuffed in a mag pouch. Getting dropped.
I know it’s a lot to ask out of a 20 dollar, non-polymer mag but I’m curious.
I am curious to see if they feed reliably in a SR25. They may finally allow semi auto hunting in PA but with a 5 rd mag. I much rather modify a cheaper aluminum mag that feeds properly than butcher a genuine KAC or Magpul mag.

I just got 3, and I’ve got 4 SR25 rifles to test them in. I’ll report back Sunday evening.
Cool , I have a 3 pack on the way but it’ll be a month before I have the rifle they’re going in.
Little late, but I tested the mags over the weekend. They ran fine for square range stuff. Can only load to 19 and be insertable on a closed bolt. Ayan @ Boltcarrier.com trimmed the front leg of the follower a tad on one of his mags in order to get it to 20 reloadable. They aren’t as nice as my KAC mags, but they aren’t $100 a pop either. I think they will be good training mags, but nothing more. They also work great in a Ruger Precision Rifle. Look so much more badass than plastic PMAGs.
Hmm…yeah…I can see myself getting a few now. Pmags do…okay…but I don’t want to bash my KAC mags around if I take a battle rifle course.
