Brown Burner-style grips?

I have been trying to recreate the “burner”-style grips that came on my SA Operator but in brown, with no success. SA doesn’t even make the black ones anymore, which I loved.

I used brown grip tape over smooth alumagrips but the tape is too thick to get right and make the bends at the top or sides of the grip, it looks real crappy if it doesn’t wrap.

Does anyone know of a way to make grips like this, or who may manufacture something similar? BTW, Barnhart said the don’t make brown ones and the VZ grip-style 320’s are way too smooth, I like a serious bite.

Someone recommended wing-walk compound somewhere but this is only comes in black.

Any help?

Brownells Spray Grit…

Lay down a decent “wet” base coat, after it tacks spray each successive coat a little “drier” than the last by holding the can further away from the surface your coating. This will cause each coat to be “grittier” than the last. You will need a self etching primer to get any paint to stick to aluminum; you can probably get a spray can of primer from your local discount auto parts store.

The Kensight grips are pretty aggressive and not too expensive. The texture is molded into the grips so you don’t need to worry about the abrasive particles coming loose, imbedding in your holster and scratching your finish.

Nice… I’ve never seen those before.

I forgot to mention that I have played with Brownells grit spray, it SUCKS and is not nearly as aggressive as I desire. Those Kensight grips are less than ideal as well, they are a really low quality.

I’m not ure what direction to go here.
