Some ammo manufacturers have replied that they buy their lead from recycle smelters so this will have no effect on them. However, the risk is that this could be just one step in an EPA effort to limit lead for ammunition. If they implement more regulations that affect lead recyclers then it becomes a problem to the lead supply affecting ammunition. But as it is now, there apparently will be little to no effect on ammo or bullets.
The demand for recycled lead will increase, and so will the price. Not to mention more panic buying.

I can see a spike in panic ammo buying, but IMO this will have minimal long term impact on demand for recycled lead. People who have been using virgin lead have been doing so for reasons other than they didn’t realize recycled was an option. Industries where uncontaminated lead is required will see a spike in price as they will have to import from OUS sources. Those that rely on recycled will still have the same sources.
I can see issues coming though as the EPA WILL move against recyclers as well. This is just the first step.
I’d guess it be a harder sell for the corrupt agency to attack a “RECYCLING” operation. But I suppose they’ll demonize the process and call them racists to get the job done.
