so im browsing You Tube and i came across this : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Xwkc-TBkCk&feature=related
have a few questions for them and there transparnt tests:

1.) was it a real vest or a cheap knock off

2.) what type of ammo where they using for the handguns

and if you notice they blocked the comments section. so my question to you guys is should we flag the video b/c the brady center is so well known for being unbiased facts about firearms.

A couple of observations about this video:

  1. Straw is not a viable representative of the human body. What is behind a vest affects the performance of a vest.

  2. After the first 2 shots, notice how this “tester” puts down the loaded handgun and walks forward of the firing line?

  3. After the second 2-shot string, notice how the “tester” walks forward of the firing line while someone is clearing the handgun (you can hear them racking the slide)?

I flagged it as “misleading text” (there was no “misleading video” option). We’ll see what happens.

  2. Probably no actual plating in there, probably a load vest or plate carrier
  3. Brady Campaign isnt exactly unbiased…
  4. That second shotshell was clearly outside of any plate that is in there…

Whoever flagged it, congrats!!! It had the right effects . . . now it is gone.

But anyway, it was an ‘old’ test, done a few years ago and they were using the ‘notorious’ restricted SS190 ammo.

Yes, totally slanted to ‘make a point’ and no basis for reality, apart from all the other blatant misrepresentations

I was one of the “flaggers”…I’m encouraged, and think that I will flag(ban) all of their videos, to see how they like it when we restrict one of their constitutional rights(I realize that youtube is private and isn’t held to the constitution, but you get the idea.)

ETA…I flagged it for “shocking and disgusting content”…as anyone who loves liberty surely is shocked and disgusted with them.

true - but how do we wipe every last trace of Brady off YouTube? I saw dozens of videos over there by them.

DHS tested the 5.7 rounds against their issued vests, the results will not be published but it was not pretty. They used civilian available ammo too. Hopefully they will circulate it in the LEO community and we can score it that way.
