Pappabear got some Dan Wesson single stack 9mm that runs really nice. It’s just over $1k, but is fit like a much higher priced gun.

Shooting too much of these guns wrecks my pistol shooting now that I have dots on almost all my Glocks. I can work around the candy ass triggers, but the grip angle wrecks my shit for sure.

Been using rock island 1911 for close to 5 years and this year I have decided to get the SR1911 “South Port” it has been on my bucket list for a while now.

Rock Island has a good reputation. They have a 40 cal Double Stack 1911 that looks really nice. But after the Prodigy beating I took with that piece of dog shit, I can’t stomach another 1911/2011 for a long time.

Then my friend if funds isn’t an Issue then it’s time you give the all new Kimber 2k11 comp a try before writing off the 1911/2011s.

We did a 2011 shoot out not too long ago. Got to try the Kimber. Not bad, but I have zero interest in anything in 9mm. If they made it in 40 cal, I’d be tempted.

I bought the Tisas MAC a few weeks ago on the used market. Price was good and I always liked the look of these. Someone put a flat trigger in it.

I ran 3 mags of a powder coated LSWC load and it had no issues so far. Hoping to get it out again soon.

Those were all loaners from Pappabear’s pistolsmith. If you’re a smith, you can get these things to run with some hint of reliabilty.

I took it out again last weekend and had a few failures to feed with a Chip McCormick Power mag, but ran 100% with an old Colt 7rd mag. After coming back home, I tested the loads by hand feeding them in some of my other 1911s. They didn’t feed all that smooth, so I shortened the COAL .020”

This is a newer bullet that a friend is casting and powder coating, so adjustment was probably needed. The load isn’t burning real clean so it will get turned up a bit. Report to follow.
