Bottom metal for .223 Remmy 7 hundo ?

I have a Rem700 laser beam 5R. The only issue I have is feeding sometimes sucks. I want to get a bottom metal that takes AI Mags. Has anyone used a bottom metal in 223 they like?

Any feedback appreciated.

Seekins, Badger, & CDI… take your pick. All SOLID.

I’m a big fan of Surgeon because of the full magazine exposed surround. You can put pressure on it from a barricade without putting pressure on the magazine and risking feeding issues.

Do they make one in .223? Forgot all about Surgeon DBM… never heard anything but positive about them.

Anybody buy one from Stocky Stocks? A friend just bought one, but he has not installed yet. Stealth M5 I think it was.

you wanting a straight drop in? Or do you not mind having someone inlet that stock?

That is the PTG version of the Badger bottom metal. I’m running it(bought it from Midway USA) in a Rem 700 300BLK in a Boyds Tacticool stock that came pre-inlet for it. Ive only got about 100 rounds through it using a plastic AI mag(all the .223 AI mags are plastic and quality has been questionable, but my sample of 1 has had no issues, yet) with no issues. Was well made, fit and finish was nice, bolted right in to the pre-inletted stock. For ~$100 it was hard to beat especially for the low cost build I was trying to do. Was VERY hard for me to justify something like a Manners with Badger metal for a plinking gun that cost 450 bucks brand new.

The Surgeon will work, just need proper inlet and 223 AICS mags.

Doesnt accurate mag make a conversion mag that will accept 223? I have seen them over on the hide but I cant remember the name and who actually makes it. I too am in the same boat for a training gun for my boy.
