I want Frank Hamer’s Colt Monitor (licensed copy of the BAR) that he used to secure Bonnie and Clyde’s heart beats.
The closest I will ever get to it is through the glass case at the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum in Waco.
If I had a million dollars, I would have bought both of Bonnie Parkers pistols, and Clyde Barrow’s 1911 that was on auction a month or so ago.
‘I’m Frank Hamer’ is worth the read…seems to me he had a good handle on the limelight of the man who brought it to an end. Only book I’ve read on the subject but always impressed me an LE with solid class.
I wonder when the trigger guard on a Detective Special ever got in anyone’s way.
Heard on the radio this AM that Bonnie’s revolver sold for about 1/2 mil to an unknown Texas collector. Also sold was “Clyde’s 1911 Colt .45 revolver”. Talk aboutcher rare guns eh!
That was a modification made famous by a Colt gunsmith and salesman. His name was FitzGerald
