I’m looking hard at this BOBRO Precision Optic Mount - 30MM for my SPR build.
I will be mounting a Nightforce in it on a Noveske VIS SPR upper. I have heard good things about BOBRO, but never seen their products in person. Any input would be welcome.
I got my first hands-on with one of these mounts a couple of weeks ago. I kept thinking the lever looked huge, even posted it a few times only to be told I was nuts. Got hands on, compared it to the Larue, sure enough it’s huge.
Don’t know if that matters to you or not. Some people like to go with products that aren’t status quo (I believe that the owner of the mount I saw said pretty much exactly that “I didn’t want to buy a Larue or ADM, everyone has those”).
Other than that it seemed well built, but their products often seem to sell for more than the LT or ADM, which I find odd. Not sure what you’re getting for the added cost, other than more material at the lever.
I see you are sponsered by MagPul and Bobro. Any experiance with this specific mount and the MBUS? I see LaRue specs a higher mount for use with the MBUS.
Any other pro’s or con’s for this mount vs. A LaRue?
I think they are fantastic mounts and most likely the most over engineered mount system out there. I swear that there is a micro computer in that lever.
With my 30mm Bobro mounts and the Leupold 1.5-5x Vari-X III and my new Burris XTR 1-4x the Magpul sight is too tall so I have to use Troy sights.
To be the Bobro exceeds the quality of both the LaRue and ADM. The Bobro self adjusts to the receiver you use it on. This isn’t a badmouth at LaRue and ADM, these are fine mounts and I still own some of each.
Thanks for the input. Stockman also added his two cents on WEVO. Anyhow I ordered one today along with the Nightforce 2x10x32 with the lv Velocity reticule. Everything should be complete in two weeks! Unless the MBUS doen’t work out that is.
