I’ve never shot a suppressor on 5.56 and I have been reading about blowback. How bad is it with an 11.5 gun? I read about (for instance) the AAC SPR vs Mk42007 - and that it is less with the SPR - but how much are we talking about in the first place? Is there a suppressor with very little blow back, light, good sound signature, and short that is going to work on a Colt 6933 in stock form?
I had an M42000 on a 16 inch barrel and I definitely got “gas faced” but Im not sure how much mre youd get on an 11.5 inch barrel. The SPR has a bigger blast chamber which would would allow alot more of the gas too dissipate instead of coming back through your action.
The only thing you left off of your requirements was CHEAP PRICE!
From what I’ve read. The gas in the face is worse on 14.5/16" barrels. It is believed to have something to do with dwell time. Additionally the gas is lower on 20" barrels due to the length of the system. I run my can on a 14.5 and 20 and can’t really tell the difference.
So shooting the same can on a 11.5 instead of a 16 inch barrel is reported to give you less gas in the face.
To me the gas in the face is hardly noticeable. I run an M4-1000 on a 14.5" barrel, and hardly ever think about it… every so often you’ll get a nasty whiff, but who cares?
The first few times you shoot, you will notice it; but once you have some time with the can on, you learn to ignore it. I had more blow back on the 16" barrels than I do with the 11.5" or 12.5" barrels. Were it really gets annoying is on FA. FWIW I have a M42K07.
