I went to the range and put 100 rounds of Blazer Brass threw my S&W M&P Pro 9 yesterday and when I got the the 100 round mark I started to get hit in the face with splatter. Shot another 50 and stopped to see what was going on when I checked the barrel I had a ton of lead build up. When looking threw the barrel it start about 3/4 of the way down the barrel and was starting to flower up around the end of the barrel.
One of the guys that runs the range was shocked at how much build up had happened and didn’t believe that I was shooting brass. So he cleaned it and I gave him 100 rounds of the Blazer brass to shoot threw it. He went out fired a hundred rounds and again it started to build up lead 3/4 of the way down the barrel and flower out at the end of the barrel.
We cleaned the barrel again and ran a 100 rounds of PMC threw it and no lead build up. I know Blazer is or can be dirty ammo but never had any lead build up before from it after such a low round count. Has anyone else had this problem with the Blazer Brass one person said it could have been a hot batch and it was burning the jacket off the back side of the bullet.
Sad part of all this I just bought 5000 rounds of the Blazer Brass.
