I went to try on some work pants at Dickies today. Took my BladeTech looper belt off to see if it would fit through the pants, I noticed a stench and thought it was just my shoes (that tends to happen) turns out it was actually my belt.
Will it be ok to clean with good old soap and water? Would I be better off getting a leather cleaner? -On to the review.
Background: Purchased the looper directly from BladeTech when I moved down to South Florida. For those who are unfamiliar the belt is kydex sandwiched between leather. Before this belt I was used to the crappy (flimsy) woven belts that barely keep your pants up. I was really impressed with it and immediately started to wear it EVERYday, even when I was unable to carry. During the day I would carry a G19 IWB with a K25 holster. I would then take my holster and belt off, switch to my work pants and wear my belt to work. I would wear it to party down in SouthBeach (sometimes wake up in strange places with it still on), with my Brooks Brothers suit to my grandmas 80th; you get the picture…
Pictures:

Don’t remember if the lettering was colored when new or if that is shit that mades its way in there. You can also see some cracking between the E and the C.

Holes do stretch a bit but nothing drastic.

Thats where the holster sits, I believe those white marks are from the holster because thats the only area on the belt that has them.

Here you can see where the kydex bends but I can feel that it has not separated internally.

Buckle still looks shiny and new but you do notice some rust on the lower screw which i’m sure wont affect anything.
Bottom line: Over two years of daily wear on the BladeTech looper in humid South Florida has done nothing to compromise its integrity. It is very versatile and well built but thats no surprise coming from BladeTech
