Been to it almost every year for the last 8 or 9 years. Will be there again. I’m usually done after 2 to 3 hours, that’s walking EVERY aisle and repeat some. I don’t stop at a table/booth unless something interests me.
While it might be the biggest blade related show in the Galaxy and is the “shot show” for blades, it’s nowhere near the size of SHOT. It usually took me 10 - 12 hours (spread over 3 days) to walk all the aisles at SHOT. It’s more like the NRA Annual Convention for knives. It’s not that big (square foot wise).
I’ve bought some custom or new model folders and flip it the next day to make some extra cash.
Anyway, I’ll be there, may pick up an Al Mar ultralight model or some sort.
I know what you mean. Was trying to paint a picture of the scale of the show so you won’t be disappointed. Some years I was actually let down by the show. Last year was pretty good. One time I met Dick Marcinko, we talked for a few minutes, reminiscing about a place we both were at a long long time ago.
Wow, long trip and lots of expenses. I wonder how much those tables cost for the show.
BTW, the air conditioning system of the Galleria sucks. They can’t keep up with the full load of packed house, so it will be a little warm and stuffy in the main room. There’s very little food vendors. There’s a Chickfilet cart that have limited supply of sandwiches and fries. Subway is downstairs by the sometimes work, sometimes not working escalators. There’s a fake Chinese fast food (fake as is slow and not so good). There’s a sit down restaurant that’s not so fast. I guess I don’t have much good to say about the food amenities at the Galleria. There’s enough food to fill you up until you’re ready for a real meal away from the show. Parking is at a premium. Oh, and the mall across the street is crime ridden :). If you have your FL carry permit, I suggest you bring it and your blaster.
At the Courtyard Atlanta Cumberland Galleria. It’s less than half mile it says, so if weather allows, will walk it. If not, Uber it. I was gonna drive from FL, but I hate long drives and went the pussy route, and got a plane ticket. End of the day, there’s not actual $ savings in the drive, so flying.
