Blackhills match vs black hills Barnes

I am using my friends rem 700 ltr in .308 to hunt deer. The rifle is zeroed and has dope for the black hills 168 match. I shot a deer last year and didn’t do much damage, pretty much just punched a 30 cal hole in it. I noticed blackhills has a 168 with the Barnes triple shock. I was wondering if the ballistics would be close enough were I could use same zero and dope to 300-400 yards?

Always confirm zero when changing to a different load, even if they are the same weight. Remember the barnes TSX is all copper and a much longer bullet than a regular lead core.

Individual cartridge and barrel behavior will require confirmation. You may find that they are close enough, but the possibility of being close enough falls off dramatically as distance increases.

Thanks for the info, thought I might be able to take a short cut.
