Blackhawk Xiphos weaponlight

Any feedback on these lights? Price wise they seem about in the middle between a Streamlight TLR-1 and a Surefire X300 but the strobe feature and the quick-cam mount are kinda slick.

Short version:

Pros: lightweight, tough body, ambi controls, decent if not inspired light output

Cons: proprietary holster system, exposed electrical contacts under the controls on the back, requires fine motor skills to activate the strobe function (taptaptap), I broke a cam lock the first day without really trying, and some other things.

Summary, interesting light, but not enough pluses to offset what I see as drawbacks.

I was very interested in these, until I had the chance to lay hands on it.

Everything seemed GTG, though as KellyTTE pointed out, activation of the strobe, under stess, is about as likely as firing an A2, upside down, whilst performing a one-armed cartwheel.

The strobe was one of the features that really set this out for me, but the activation thereof is a PITA.

There’s always the Insight Procyon, which seems to have gotten positive/favourable results from some folks here:

I’ve not had the chance to lay hands on the Procyon, but I did with the Xiphos, and was underwhelmed. YMMV.
