Black Hills Velocity

What kinda velocities are you getting from black hills blue box .223
with sierra 77gr, and 69gr? I burned up the ammo I had before I got my
chronograph, was curious how fast they were going out of my 16", 1/7 barrel?
On average, speaking, that is.
Thanks

Back in 2005, I chronoed some old Black Hills in my Colt 6920 at 65 degrees F. air temperature. Blue box 75 gr. 2539 ft/sec. Blue Box 69 gr. 2659 ft/sec. Blue box 68 gr. 2645 ft/sec. Keep in mind they may have switched to a different powder by now, so take this merely as a guideline.

Two handloads chronoed on the same day: 75 gr. Hornady bullet with 25 grs. Varget netted 2608 ft/sec. in L.C. brass and CCI 400s. Winchester Power Point 64 gr. bullets with 26 grs. Varget clocked 2713 ft/sec. I have since dropped the load for 75 gr. Hornady bullets to 24 grs. Varget because the 25 gr. load was getting compressed while seating the bullet.
