Black Friday sales, what are you getting?

I’ll probably be upgrading the TV in my room to a 42in Vizio LCD, 1080dpi, 120hz. I’ve seen them at Walmart for $550.

Are you scoping anything out for Black Friday early?

Be careful with the Vizio’s. I have one a (30-32") I’m not sure, anyway it was bought at Sam’s club 5yrs ago, My Mom bought one bought one about a year after I did,(same size) We’ve had some trouble with it all along… Difficulty getting remotes from cable co. to work with it (volume, dosen’t work with cable co. remote.) Would also turn itself off and on, Within the last year or so it has developed a rather nasy habit of suddenly the sound will go out and you’ll get a loud static like sound from it, shut it off and restart, and sound will usually come back on. My mom’s suddenly when tits up when it would no longer turn on either remotely or manualy, took it to local TV shop (these guys are pretty good, and have a good rep.) Mom was told a switch was out, and entire circuit board would need replaced, problem was, there are NO parts for these things available… Mom bought a Toshiba…Parts are available,Unless Vizio has really improved, I’ll never buy another. Buyer beware…

Thanks for the review, maybe I’ll look into Samsung or Toshiba. Something under 6.

I think it’s pretty safe to say Samsung is the leader of LED and LCD tvs…Koreans know how to make Tvs ahaha take that Sony :sarcastic:

I am looking for a Snow Blower, a 22-24" 2 stage. We moved last year from Houston to the NOVA area just in time for the Winter from HELL… and got snowed in. Not used to Snow In SE Texas… So this year I am buying some peace of mind…Hope It never gets used…

I am getting…the hell away from any Walmart!

I’ll be sleeping in and eating. I’m not going out there with you crazy people …

Have fun…

I am hoping Grant has a sale so I can shop online and avoid the crowds. (hint, hint)

Vizio sucks. I’ve had nothing but problems with a 42" plasma.

It may be destroyed in a slightly spectacular, Youtube-friendly fashion.

Most places have “Black Friday” prices now a few weeks before Thanksgiving. Prices have really dropped on TV’s. The Koreans have us by the balls! :sarcastic:

Another warning to those shopping for big ticket electronics:

Major brands like Samsung, Sony, LG, etc will make models specifically for Black Friday.

And in the same fashion, Major brands will also make specific models for specific outlets like Best Buy.

This goes for both TVs and Laptops.

Here are a few sites to keep an eye on as they post up store fliers as soon as they become available…

I will be staying far away from any stores on Black Friday. I have no patience for the insane crowds.

black friday… i’ll be at about 6,500’, tracking an elk herd through fresh snow.

FUCK shopping- that’s gotta be the absolute worst day of the year to be anywhere near civilization.

Gander Mountain has a 12 gun safe going on sale only on Thanksgiving Day. Still haven’t decided if I’m going to go look at it or not.

Normally I stay far away from BF shopping…but this year the Ridgeback Rescue group I volunteer with, it having a dog-bed sale at their local Tractor Supply store and I may go out and help them with that.

I am hoping for an ACOG!

I dont have anything in mind, I just made a new gaming PC using Neweggs Black November promos and rebates. Saved a bit of money. Dont really feel like dealing with BF asshattery. I’ve been once and will never do that again. Lot of stuff you can get online now. Brick and mortar feeding frenzy isnt worth the BS.
