although walter birdsong died last month, i’ve been meaning to post that the business is wide-open. his two sons, wally and tommy, are carrying on the business. i’ve been by twice in the last few weeks and business is still booming. the BATF will not [would not] let them ship anything from there as the FFL was in walter sr.'s name, but, they had a whole bunch of the FBI’s springfield TRP 45s ready to ship, so they were expiditing wally’s license. the boys were the ones that did all the work anyway, so same great product. feel free to use their service, i have three lowers there now [2 black, 1 OD] and am gonna have them do my complete 6920,it’s easy for me, they are right on my way home.
Bullseye, that is great to hear, thanks for posting this. I was wondering what was going to happen with the business, and how Walter’s death would affect the business. I have a SIG that I am wanting to send in for Black-T treatment. I had the opportunity to speak with Walter Birdsong one time. What a nice guy. Prayers for him and his family.
I hadn’t heard that Walter had passed away. That’s a shame; I’ll miss our conversations.
I’m glad to hear that they are carrying on. One day I plan on buying a Springfield Professional Model and I was hoping to get the Black-T finish.
RIP Mr. Birdsong
That’s good news about the finish, and sad news about Mr. Birdsong’s passing. Only have one gun finished in black-t but it has held up very well over the last several years.
Where in Mississippi are they located? I live in Meridian.![]()
