When you get the sling attached to a rifle, what do you do with the excess webbing? Do you just cut and melt it or is there something else you’re supposed to do. Been quite a while since i had a new one.
I have cut some and taped some off. Its your sling, do whichever you prefer.
I just tape it all down. Still there if you need it later, and it’s out of the way. I’ve got a couple slings that have been taped for over a decade now, and they work just fine.
Probably should wash 'em though, now that I think about it…
I reroute through the buckles as possible
Same here. I double back on the straps until it’s all contained. I try not to cut my slings since I can never decide where to put my sling points; stock, endplate, rear of hand guard, front of hand guard.
I’ve never cut one, I reroute back through the triglides.
Same.
But I’ve picked up a used sling or two, and one thing to remember is that if you do choose to cut it, melt the end with a lighter or match.
Same here.
