1) All for sale items MUST have a price in the ad, or in the header description. You should also indicate what methods of payment you will accept. No exceptions.
1a) No auctions. List a price at which you are willing to sell it, not an artificially high price and then field “bids” via email or IM. No links to auction sites either.
-
Sellers: Do not bump your ad until 48 hours have elapsed from the last post in the thread. A “bump” is defined as any post that causes your ad to return to the top of the first page of the marketplace. If someone responds to you, use IM/EMAIL or edit your first post to answer the question if the answer is applicable to all potential buyers. (Example: You post a sale thread at 5pm on Monday, and a potential buyer wrongly posts to your thread @ 4pm on Wednesday. You should not post a bump to your thread until 4pm on Friday AT THE EARLIEST)
-
Sellers: Three advertisements on the first page is the maximum allowed. Having more then three will lead to deletions, without notice. Combine ads as best you can.
-
Sellers: You must have 30 posts, while contributing positively to this forum community, in order to sell in the marketplace. Industry Professionals, Site Dealers, and Site Manufacturers will be exempt from this rule.
-
Sellers: All items for sale should be from your personal collection. Dealers must come to an agreement with site staff in order to sell new parts, and inventory on this site.
-
Sellers: Do not edit the final sale price from your ad. It is helpful for the buyer, seller and this community to know what items sold for recently, and in the past.
7) Buyers: Use IM or Email to contact the seller, in all cases. Do not post in the sale thread, at all. The fact that you sent them an IM or email will be obvious to the seller when their IM box or email inbox has new messages.
- Absolutely no group buys, unless you are a Site Sponsor, Industry Professional/SME or have written authorization from Site Staff or a Marketplace moderator.
9) Sellers & Buyers: Do not post in a thread to indicate that the item has been SOLD, SOLD PENDING FUNDS, RECEIVED or otherwise. There is no reason to bring a SOLD item back to the top of the first page. Edit your original post using “Go Advanced” and indicate “SOLD” or “SPF” or “SOLD PENDING FUNDS” in the thread title. Alternately, use a standard edit and modify the text content of the ad to reflect it’s status.
10) Everyone: There should be no posting in a sale ad unless you specifically understand the rules above, and what they mean. If you are unsure of the rules above, send the seller or buyer an IM or email. Ultimately, there is only one reason additional posts should appear on a sale ad –> That is to bump the ad after 48 hours have elapsed as per rule #2.
- These rules are pretty cut and dry. If you get an infraction, there is probably current database visual proof to substantiate it. 5pts is not big deal for a Sale Forum Rule violation. 15pts for disregarding a mods warning in a sale thread, or disregard to previous infractions can lead to a temporary ban of your privileges on this board.
12) The ONLY time a buyer should post in a sale ad is because a seller has not acknowledged attempts to contact them via both IM and EMAIL, for more than 48 hours. (e.g. If a seller posts an ad on Sunday @ 2pm, and you post in the sale ad that they haven’t responded to email AND IM attempts on Monday night at 5pm, expect to get an infraction.)
- If in doubt, use IM or email for any communication.
