BFG LMAC fit question

I recently purchased BFG LMAC size large to use with Gamma plus 10x12 stand alone plates.
I have no previous experience with armor. After inserting the plates into the carrier, I noticed there was about 5" of material left at the bottom front of the carrier. Also the shoulder straps were almost at the maximum adjustment limit for it to fit.
I am curious if I need to step down to size medium of the plate carrier? Here are some photos of how it looks on me:

Andy,

Check out the plate sizing info on our website. The LMAC is designed around the military issued ESAPI plates and the Medium ESAPI measures closer to the plate you have linked. Unfortunately, it would be cost prohibitive for us to keep on hand every possible hard plate out there so I can’t say definitively that the Medium carrier would work best with your plates. What I can say definitively is that we will do everything we can to get you the correctly sized LMAC to go with your plates.

Thanks for your interest in Blue Force Gear products and feel free to contact us if you’d like to swap out your carrier for a different size.

Stephen,
Thank you for the info. Based on the photos, is the plate carrier in the “right location”?
Could you provide more info on the difference between Large and Med sized carriers? Beside the plate pockets, is the medium shorter? Are shoulder straps shorter on Med as well?

Thanks!

The positioning is perfect. The plate just looks a little loose.

No difference between the two except the size of the plate pocket.

Stephen, quick question. I have a medium LMAC with medium sapi plates. Like with in the OP’s photos there is a big gap from the top lip of the plate and my body. I’ve never experienced that with other carriers I’ve used all with medium plates. Is the gap normal? I’m assuming its due to the placement of the shoulder straps, being as it is sewn to the rear of the plate as opposed to the front.
