What’s everyone think? The streamlight micro stream caught my eye but the $15 price tag has me worried. I’d like something BRIGHT that I can clip on my pocket. Looking for the best value. Let’s hear it.
I would go with an RA Clicky or a NovaTac 120. Both are highly reliable American Made lights.
I have the streamlight micro stream. It works perfect and is about the diameter of a pen. I would not say its super bright like a Surefire E2DL but it gets the job done for what it is and its very compact with a great pocket clip.
I’ve had pretty good luck with the Quark Tactical AA model lights so far. They definately aren’t as well built as a Surefire, but the are bright and useful and, I feel, a good value.
I also have some Fenix lights that have served me well so far. but typically I’m always carrying my Surefire E1B as I have for the last two years and it hasn’t failed me yet. Plus my experience with SF’s customer service has been top notch on other SF lights I own - even when they broke due to my abuse.
The Novatacs look very interesting and I know a lot of people love theirs, but since I’ve been totally happy with my E1B, I haven’t bought a Novatac to try out.
I bought a few E1B’s from OMBExpress when the used to sell them for $99 and then had a 15% off sale, so I scored them for $85. I know if you get them from Grant and use the discount code the price is aroung $120 which is pretty good for a $150 light.
Check out the 4Sevens Preon 2. Not as small as a microstream but a hell of a lot brighter with its high mode. It will cost more, but you get a little more bang.

Lots of choices, overwhelming actually. I would recommend you either fully define what you want the light to do and what you are going to use it for so everyone can give you real recommendations instead of just telling you what light they think is cool.
Another, much easier and probably happier route would just to choose ignorance and buy whatever you see at Home Depot and move forward with your life

The preon1 is 70 likened. Is that bright?
i recently went through confusion on which LED to buy…so i bought another Surefire, and im glad i did. E1L outdoorsman, 119 bucks and worth every penny
To expound… light needs to fit in my pocket and clip on the outside like a folding knife. I’m looking for an edc light that will serve multiple functions such as: walking to and from my car in my dark driveway to hopefully never having to use it in a defensive situation (as I prefer a handheld light as opposed to a weapon mounted light on a sidearm). The light must be click activated. I have little knowledge of brightness/intensity ratings but it has to be bright enough to use in the said situations. However, I am willing to sacrifice a degree of brightness for a little longer battery life. This said, ideally, I’d like to keep it at or under $60.
if Surefire would ever market a G2LED with a clip, it would be a sure seller
Does anyone make an attachable clip for the g2?
if not, we may have a million dollar idea:D

Good choice! It fits all your requirements and isn’t too big for your pocket. Use a rechargeable AA eneloop (low self discharge) and you don’t have to worry about the battery running down when not in use.

That kills my recommendation for a NovaTac or RA Clicky. You will have to go chinese.

Recently switched from a Surefire E1 series to a Fenix PD20 and love it.
You might also look at Olight. I have a Quark in my future as well.
