Double-tap loads new Winchester SS109/M855 projectiles to 3300fps in a 22" barrel and 2950fps in a 16" AR barrel as per their testing.
They bill it as “match grade” accuracy as I recall. I doubt it is that, but it is basically premium grade M855 from what I can tell. They seal the primer and case neck also. I do not know about crimping primers though.
Is this good stuff for SHTF ammo, or should I save the $. It is $30 per 50 rounds.
Nice ammo…but got really expensive over the last year. Like everything!!!
If you can put out for a case of 1000 you can get it for less.
Saw a few sellers on Gunbroker at $475/case. (use to be less than $250).
I’d say buy a case and pack it away…too expensive too shoot!!!
The projectile itself, no way, but the rest of the load can be up to snuff and that would help a lot, even if it can’t fix the bi-metal core being a bit off sometimes.
