Best source for webbing, cordura fabric, buckles & hardware?

Like the subject says, I am looking for the best source for webbing, fabric, buckles and hardware, the same stuff that nylon web gear manufacturers use…

After frustration in finding exactly the right web gear for me, and wishing I could “modify it” or add something to it, I purchased off ebay this old workhorse sewing machine for a steal…

Singer 66 Sewing Machine.

Now I need to find the stuff needed to begin my mods…

Help!

They have some stuff, but you probably wont save much compared to having it made to your specifications.

If you want some work done Kary of endeavor gear can make most anything you want for a low price. His turnaround is about a week and about 2 weeks if he doesn’t have the material in stock.

Further research seems to have answered my question… EBAY! Lots of stuff there in smaller quantities.

As for just having someone else do it… Sometimes you just don’t know how you want something until you try it… DIY allows me to test and change easily without sending out…

Just like reloading, the TIME is not the most important variable, but the satisfaction of doing what you want just the way you like it.

My now passed-away Grandfather would be proud… He was a Master Tailor from Sweden. Oh how I wish I could have learned from him, but I was just a kid. Now all that skill is gone…

I have used this site for several webbing/buckle orders as well as sending them a pic and measurements to do custom work for me for sport bike luggage needs. Prices and service have always been great. May not be a “tactical” supply house but I am sure they have stuff that some can use.

Excellent call with strapworks, also really cool people to deal with , they will work to find you stuff if they don’t have. I purchased some neon green webbing from them awhile back to build a neon green riggers belt for some guy on special request.

One of my favorites is
http://www.rockywoods.com/ quick shipping and very reasonable.

I purchase a decent amount of stuff from these guys

This company here will go out of their way to find you stuff, not a super sexy website but great customer service

And ebay is a great place for thread in smaller batches, I built some pink pistol belts last year and I found some pink thread on ebay when none of my vendors could find it.

I hope that helps, sometimes the biggest crux is finding supplies, I have been in business for five years and I am just now getting my different supplier down. A piece of advice I can add is save your vendor catalogs in a filing cabinet, mark your items you order in some way , and keep notes on what you buy from whom.

+1 for rockywoods.com - good selection and prices. Found everything I needed to make my own chest rig.

www.paragear.com is a great website. They wont have everything you need but they ship quickly and ship to APO/FPO’s.
They are a good source for Cobra buckles and other quality load-rated hardware.

I buy mine locally from the Army Surplus Store…they have a good supply of Nylon webing in various colors and sizes as well as buckles etc…in both Plastic and metal.
Another place is camping/Hiking stores…they generally have a supply as well.

Supply Captain has some buckles, velcro, shock cord, and such.
