Looking for options on all of the SF SOCOM lineup. Rainier has a few, Silencershop doesn’t have any even listed. Anywhere else?
If in Virginia, Virginia Arms had some in stock a couple of days ago including a FDE 556 mini socom. Didn’t know the socom minis were out but it was sitting next to the 556 RC-definitely an inch or so shorter. Robb can correct me if I’m wrong on that.
SilencedAmerica or Silencershop are the 2 big online dealers that I know of.
They had the 762 socom mini in stock today RC yesterday. But I already have the mini and RC on order through my local dealer.
They also have the 762 muzzle break (SFMB-762-5/8-24) in stock!
Iirc, AllenArms has them in stock and is a distributor for SF.
Great choice on the socom, I’m really digging mine when I can get to my dealer to visit and shoot a bit. Still looking forward to trying the Socom762 I have waiting for me there!
2nd that for Allen Arms. I bought the Surefire SOCOM 5.56RC from him along with three of the new MB’s.
Fast service, fast shipping.
Yesterday I purchased the 762 FDE from Allen Arms, anyone have a hookup on a black 762 Mini?
Thanks
Kevin
I got my SOCOM 556RC from SKArms out of Texas.
Call Silencershop. They have a lot inbound that isn’t on the website.
Allen Arms Tactical had several SOCOM series Suppressors in stock today and several form 3 pending. Also the price is below MSRP.
That’s where I ordered my Socom 7.62 DE mini from last week, pretty good shipped price. I was preferring a black one, but couldn’t find one in stock.
Ha, I wanted a tan socom 762-RC for months and couldn’t find one ![]()
I sort of wish I would have skipped the 556-RC and done the 762-mini but whatever, I’m not kicking in doors so a full size 762 won’t be the worst thing ever.
If you shoot 5.56 a lot than the 5.56RC will be a tad quieter due to less bore size. I wonder if there is anything different internally between the 5.56-RC and 762-mini. They have the same specs (vented baffles that the 762-RC doesn’t have) except the bore size difference. I wonder if you could send it back to Surefire and have them bore it out to 762… but than you would have an issue with threading to accept 5/8x24
I went with the 762-mini and 762-RC, but I do not shoot a lot of 5.56. Mainly 300 Blackout, 7.62x51 and 300 Rum (which Surefire stated that the RC is able to handle, it is only 1,000 PSI more than a Win mag.).
From my understanding you cannot do this.
Good to know. Thanks!
I would never send a 556-RC in for that purpose even if I could. The Minis weren’t available when I ordered mine, so I’ll just have to “suffer” with the best 556 out there! ![]()
The 762mini seems like a good idea but in reality, the full size 762 won’t be an issue anywhere. The only real application I would even find the 762mini ideal is 300blk. I like the idea of having both the mini and full to swap around, but I can only shoot one gun at a time a d think I’d almost always choose the full size given the choice.
Agreed. I went with the 762-mini strictly for my 300 blackout SBR. Having the same dimensions as the 556-RC I will use it on my 556 guns, but wanted the shortest package possible for my HD gun (9" blackout… once my stamp comes in). When it comes to my M14, or other 308 rifles I will most certainly be grabbing the longer 762-RC for the better noise reduction.
That’s kinda what I got my 7.62 mini for is a future 300 blackout build, going to use it on my 5.56 and even my precision .308 for now, but I plan on getting a TBAC 30-p1 direct thread on in the future for that as well.
I was looking at thread on precision can + mini socom, but decided 762-RC should really do everything that a thread on can would do an more. The surefire mount is the only one I would consider able to replace or replicate the benefits of the thread mount. SiCo’s Saker/RS but that’s still at least a year out probably two.
So now I have a 556 and 762-RC. If I really get into 300blk I’ll get a 762mini, otherwise the 762-RC will work for now.
Can anyone confirm that the 556 cans DO or DO NOT fit on the 762 mounts?
556 cans DO NOT fit on 762 mounts, but 762 can DO fit on 556 mounts… at least according to Garin of Surefire.
