Best optic for a light mid-range rifle?

Hey guys,

This is sort of a follow up to the earlier post about my idea for a lightweight midrange rifle. I have a deal worked on a Remington 700 Youth with backup irons. I want a nice, sturdy, low profile optic for medium range duty. I don’t need anything for discovering new galaxies. The only optics I have used for the past few years are Scout scopes and aimpoints. I think a variable would be best. But I don’t want something fragile, I am willing to pay for something nice.

How about a TR20-2: Trijicon AccuPoint® - 3-9x40 Riflescope, Mil-Dot Crosshair with Amber Dot?

I’m guessing this is for a hunting gun? Think about Leupold 1.75-6X. It is light and in weight and has plenty of power for the distances that you will use it for in most hunting situations in the East and Mid West. MHO.

Hunting plus all the things a rifle like this might be useful for. I will look into that.

My favorites in order of choice

The new Night Force NXS 2.5-10x32 Just the best little scope around for this application in my opinion

Nikon Tactical 2.5-10

The good old stand by 3.5-10x40 Leupold MK4 with 30mm tube

or if its just a pure hunting scope you have a heck of a time beating just the 1" tube Leupold 3.5-10,

Both good suggestions above. Leupold is a quality optic for a reasonable price.

I’ll second the Nightforce 2-10. It is an excellent optic that is often overlooked when looking for the niche it fills perfectly.
