This weekend I had the opportunity to shoot with a good friend of mine. He has an Arsenal SA M7 R that is probably the smoothest AK I have ever shot in my life.
I know that century has a few milled guns out but I want to really find something high quality, new, with a fixed stock in the 1000-1500 dollar price range. It appears that Arsenal has stopped productions on alot of its milled variants. Any suggestions, or will arsenal introduce them again in the future?
Arsenal SA series. Check their site or call as they still get them from time to time and might even still have stock. I got an email not long ago about SA M7 Carbines. They are a fantastic rifle and the SA M7 Carbine is my personal favorite. The Bulgarian rifles are amongst the finest built IMHO.
So I take it KVAR doesnt update their site regularly, because I have been looking fairly regularly and nothing has changed. I will give them a call.
By the way, is that a battlecomp for 7.62x39 threaded for the ak? I didnt think those were out. Did you have to modify the threads on your rifle to take the 308 BC?
That is a Battle Comp AKBC which is specifically for the AK and is different from the BABC. At this point I believe that Rifle Dynamics is the only place to buy one as they have reached an exclusive agreement with Battle Comp.
It is a fantastic product and if you buy an Arsenal SA series which is a barrel nut AK, it is a simple screw on and threaded accordingly. It should work on a milled AK that utilizes a nut.
The Arsenal guns are nice. I didn’t see the need for a milled receiver so I went with the stamped SGL series. I have owned/shot one of the Century “Polish” milled AKs and have to say it was a nice accurate rifle.
The only negative on the Century milled guns is they have a non chrome lined barrel and Ive heard the steel in them is a bit on the soft side.
