It seems to me that the best covers depend on the rail diameter and distance between the slots. I wish the BCM covers were a little wider so they didn’t leave so much of my ALG V3 rail exposed - I’m not wild about needing gloves to shoot in the summer, winter, or anytime I am putting a lot of rounds downrange.

They do look perfect for BCM rails, naturally.

Same goes for the V2 on leaving exposed areas with the BCM covers. The V1 has additional slots and less exposed metal.

I like the Magpul type 2 covers. I’ve never had one come loose, in fact I have some that have been on a rail for years and it still takes considerable effort to remove them.

I don’t care for the BCM covers at all. Too narrow, too thin, still get toasty.

They are stupid expensive, but I love my Railscales G10 XOS panels. They are sweet on my Centurion C4 handguard, still maintains the small profile and has excellent heat protection.
