best low power scope under $200

Thinking of putting a low power scope on one of my ar15s…simple low power scope/no red dot…maybe 1x32 or 4x32…around there…

The best low powered sighting device in that budget is a set of decent irons.

Typos brought to you via Tapatalk and autocorrect.

I’ll probably get blasted for this. I’ve had a Bushnell Banner 1.5-4.5 and I shit you not have taken it out to 800+ with my buddy helping me dialing in. Nothing fancy just a normal crosshairs type deal but has held surprisingly strong.

I have one of those on my 12 gauge deer shotgun, doesn’t get shot much but does ok.

Leupold Mark AR.

NOT under $200, but the cheapest low power scope I’D put on an AR.

Leupold ARs can be had for about $230 after rebate right now.

What about nikon m-223 or p-223? I’ve heard pretty good things about them.

Someone posted a thread here not long ago. $200 scopes and you could chose which power you wanted. Started at 1-4 and went up to 20x.

I can’t for the life of me find it though.

Slightly higher priced but I think the Weaver Super Slam Dangerous Game 1-5x is outstanding for the price. $330 at Amazon right now, which is much cheaper than everywhere else, and there is a $50 rebate from Weaver. 30mm tube and in my opinion better glass and brightness than the Mark AR and M223. Great deal for under $300 net.

For NON defense use, the leupold mark AR and Nikon monarch lines are OK.

The best scope that I found similar to what you are looking for is the Leupold 2.5x20mm FX-II. It is a very simple, fast, durable optic. I used one for more than a year on a 5.56 AR. I still have it and keep it as a back-up scope.

For what, plinking?

Weaver V3 is a good scope for pretty cheap.

However, if possible spend a bit more and get the Leupold Mark AR.

What are the limitations of the Nikon Monarch scopes? At what point does one reach them?

Vortex makes a decent 1.75-5 in their Diamondback line that you can find for sub $200.

after a lot of looking around i got a leupold vx-hog scope, $229 from opticsplanet.com and seems to have to good reviews. I’ve got leupolds on my other hunting guns and love them, along with the lifetime warranty (that i have had to use and saved me lots of cash).

I like my Burris Fullfield II 2-7x35. I installed it on a Burris PEPR mount with the railed scope rings and a Burris Fastfire on too. I really like this setup but, that’s just me! It was around $180 for the scope alone.
