Looking for a pack about the same size as the 5 11. I want it to have alot of padding. Not sure how strong or durable the 5 11 is. Who else makes decent packs that are this size?

5.11 is mediocre gear at best. The Maxpedition is much better. There are also packs from TT, Eagle, and others that would do well at or about that price point.
I have no experience with the Maxpedition nor Blackhawk.
I own two Eagle packs, very nice and well made.
I have a Maxpedition Condor II in black. I used it for S.W.A.T. School and it did everything I needed and still looks like new. I threw that thing down on concrete, asphalt, grass, mud, etc. thousands of times and it looks like I just bought the damn thing. I’ve since taken it camping and I love the compartment for hydration and my Glock 21. I ran countless miles with it on my back and I didn’t feel it afterward. But it’s got enough padding so you can’t feel the gun that should be jabbing you in the back considering how close the pocket they made for concealed carry is to your back. The only bad thing is that it doesn’t have enough MOLLE on the back of the bag (I want to attach a Milspec Monkey stealth admin pouch but it won’t fit) .It has it running down both sides though.
