What would you consider is the best color for your tactical vest for blending the best way into the woods?
What woods? Every situation is different.

I understand every state is also different since, some places are deserted areas and others are not. Posting a picture of it is also welcome.
As for myself, I was thinking on getting an all black but then again, looking for other options since I would like to keep a low profile especially in the SHTF situation.
P.S. Apologies for focusing only on the woods. Any other scenarios are welcome too.
I’d go with a brown or maybe OD green. If living in the city then some type of grey.
I was reading in another thread here on M4C that the Army is looking at or I think they already picked the Kryptek Camo. Anybody with experience about kryptek that wants to add their .02?
Kryptek has 6 different patterns the last time I checked. I buy pretty much everything in OD green or what HSGI calls smoke green.
Most woodland mammals are brownish in color. They blend pretty damn well three seasons out of the year.
So I choose multicam because its mostly brown/tan, with some green blended in carefully. It’s amazing in the woods and doesn’t lose effectiveness if there’s a drought and everything is brown and dead.

I read a thread here not too long ago about a member’s long range precision rifle night shoot. There was some discussion that targets painted black are the easiest things to see through night vision. My own very limited NVD use in past military days backs this up, although I’m far from an expert on it.
For most of us worrying about how we show up on night vision goes pretty deep into the SHTF fantasy, but I suppose it’s good to know.
I just bought new multicam gear to replace my old woodland gear. I have used it once for hunting already and I did feel it was better than the woodland. It seems to work well in a lot of different settings. Look on the Internet for pictures… It is pretty impressive.
I just recently purchased a set of atacs au. Now here in the northeast where most leaves are off the trees and the brush is turning brown it is an excellent option. For a lush green environment I like marine marpat but will be trying out the atacs fg. Here is a pic of atacs au and marine marpat laying next to each other.

Anybody ever looked at cheap (Condor and other CheaperThanDirt fare) gear through NVG’s? That shit glows like a chem light.

It would be your vest option for blending in your certain area, could be clothing too besides only the tactical vest.
Really? Since I can’t afford NVG’s for a long time, I’ll keep that in mind when buying.

For camouflage, nothing works better than personally matching your colors to your environment.
A base color of desert tan, coyote brown, or smoke green will let you over-paint with good results, and change is only a rattle-can away.
