Best all around .45 silencer

How do you know they aren’t “copying” this:

?

Seriously? Please read my full post, especially the “PS- I am also not claiming that the non-concentric silencer idea started with or ends with the blackbox” line… I am well aware of the various historical examples out there.

Seriously? You claim they copied your silencer.

If you don’t have any evidence that that’s the case, just say so.

Ah, fighting on the internet…
I claim nothing, I feel the design of the osprey echoes the prototype BlackBox. Please, learn to live with other people’s opinions. I respect yours, but i don’t appreciate you trying to box me into a corner. Relax.

I am not asserting they snuck into AAC in the dead of night and pulled some Watergate move and got their hands on a prototype, reverse engineered it, and are now selling it.

In ANY and EVERY discussion I have seen online, the Osprey is compared to the BlackBox prototype that was widely discussed and viewed over the past couple years. They are superficially similar and a fair comparison. Would you prefer i say “from my experience, it seems to be a similarly-shaped and conceived concept that in my opinion falls short in some design areas, but is a good performer in initial reports”?

To the OP, apologies, and as of today, the best two choices in .45 cans are the Ti-RANT and the Osprey, and if you don’t mind shooting wet, the Evo45 and HEMS2 are good options.

You’ve got to be kidding me…

You say a competitor’s product is a “complicated copy” of your “prototype,” I ask for clarification, and that’s “boxing you in a corner?!”

Wow.

Again, I think I’ve explained myself clearly.

Feel free to take it up via PM or Email, I’m happy to discuss.

Does anyone have experience with the Gemtec Blackside? Specifically want to use it with the Glock 21, any comments on this can?

GemTech Blackside is awesome on a Glock 21.

Though I’d go with what Jason says. You’ll be able to find a Ti-RANT .45 soon.

It’ll be more expensive, but worth it.

ETA: I own a Ti-RANT 9, now.

Good advice here.

Stop being a fucking tool or go somewhere else.

Watch your mouth. This isn’t AFRCOM…If you disagree with the poster then so be it but watch your language…

Lmfao. I love how everybody here despises that site.

Aren’t we on the same side?

There are good knowledgeable posters on that site.

BTW: I love your quote. ^^

While on a set for a TV on the Discovery Channel, I played with a number of Silencerco products yesterday: From the Sparrow .22 to the Osprey 9 and Osprey 45.

Simply, I was VERY MUCH impressed with the Osprey 45 as it sounded much like a suppressed subsonic 9! By far one of the quietest I have ever heard both behind the line and on top of the gun.

More detailed AAR to come. Josh and Jon are great guys, and it was a fun day at the range. Thanks!

Merry Christmas!
Alan

You’re going to be on discovery?

Also, 8 month bump?

Yea, don’t be a tease! Tell us the name of the show and when it airs…

In my opinion the ideal set up would be the Gemtech UMP sillencer since I have the 8in barrel with the mushroom head for thier QD suppressor. Then I would acquire some kind of thread adapter for. 45 threaded barrels that mimic the UMP mushroom head and then just QD the suppressor for whatever wepon I am using.

Unfortunately it seems I will need to thread the barrel and get a thread cap. And also acquire several boosters for using on a pistol. Now if a manufacture had a locking booster built in that would lock out on carbines or boost on pistols by using a throw lever would be another great feature.

Most likely, a purpose-built UMP can would be too big/heavy to run on a pistol, even with a booster.

That said, both our Ti-RANT 45 and the Osprey 45 can quickly have their booster’s spring replaced with a fixed spacer for use on the sub gun.

Get your UMP threaded the same pitch as your pistol and you wont need to buy any extra pistons.

My dealer recommended the Tirant 45 by AAC

So I had him order 1 up for me. Maybe in may I should be shooting it.
