No specifics but the CS or A2 material is a lot stronger (that I know). The original A1 and triangle hand guards were much more prone to breakage.
ETA: When the A1’s were being produced plastics and polymers of the time were a lot less advanced than they are now.
being the original fixed butt freek, it stands to reason that I’d have both A1 and A2 stocks on some of my
Carbines. Mostly A1’s though. The 14.5" Carbine was just MADE for an A1 stock, IMHO. My 6536 and
6721LE’s are both running A2’s right now. That A1 in whatever material you get, is just beyond kool.
If you get an original Colt oldtimer with a lousy finish, you can remove the remainder and expose the
Fiberite…ah, beautiful Fiberite! I have two now with the Fiberite exposed and this is about as good as
it gets in Stoner land!!
