Based on the OP’s intended uses, I’d say an LMT SOPMOD stock would be the best 1st choice.

LOL, these might be the least needed items on a fighting weapon.

+1 on that.
I think I’m spoiled on rifle length handguards.
I shot a night match with my iron-sighted carbine last weekend and I kept wanting to put my thumb on the front sight base.
That thing gets downright hot after 32 rounds of rapidfire!
I want to thank you all for sharing your expertise. I know that it gets kinda boring answering these type of questions from newbies like myself. All of your input will certainly be considered.
This is probably not the place to share this but I will be brief. Since posting this yesterday my family has experienced a medical emergency. Without going into any details I just ask that if you believe in the power of prayer say one for my daughter “Lisa”.
Thanks Tim
I thought you were trying to make a funny.
For most of us, such items won’t even make the list. Ammo…mags…training…weapon mounted light…case…sling.
+1 a good sling, vickers 2 point, and “KISS” to start, learn to shoot & maintain it first .
I just ordered my Colt 6920 yesterday. I see everyone posting mags, sling, rails, and flashlight. My colt is going to be used in both personal use and law enforcement use. What is recommended? A list would be helpful so I can check off the stuff I get or have. Thank you.
I pray all goes well Tim.
Flashlight: Surefire Scout (or modified version with the LU60A head)
Rail: DD, LT, Troy, VLTOR or MI (if you can install it or have someone install it, go with a one piece FF rail)
Optic: Aimpoint or EOTech (would most likely go with the Aimpoint for duty use because of its run time)
Sling: BFG Vickers

For me, the first mod I had to make to my carbine was to get rid of that damned A2 style pistol grip. That finger rest sucks. My buddy Matt E did a pretty much almost-no-cost mod to the existing grip by Dremeling off the finger rest and sliding a length of bicycle inner tube over the grip. Not as cool lookin’ as a Buffer Tech Battle Grip, but much, much better than stock.
