I did a search and didn’t see any feed back on Berkely water filter online retailers. I’m going to purchase on over the next few days and was wondering if any retailers are better then others? Customer service , pricing, sales, ect.
Thanks,
Larry

Its spelled “Berkey”
As for a place to pick up a Berkey I would do a general Internet search and then sort by price. After that take the best three prices and check the retailers BBB rating and do a on-line search on that retailer for complaints before you buy.
This is usually a good indicator of the merchant and their customer service.
My Berkey’s came from a Internet company that folder last year but I always have the manufacturer if I need customer support.
I see them advertised all the time on the forum at http://www.survivalistboards.com . It looks like there is a system on sale today here:

Thanks for all the responses, I ended up buying a Imperial Berkley from safecastle.com, which was probably the right thing to do since they sponsor another site I read (kind of like buying from Grant here). I bought the lifetime membership that gives you 20% off, which worked out well with the extra set of filters and the extra parts kit. One more thing crossed of my list!

Something you may wish to try, if the speed of filtration is not critical, is using a rubber stopper in one of the holes were the filters attach.
That allows me to use only one of the expensive black filters in my Berkey, and save money.
I got mine here:
I wanted a berkey also, but did a bit of leg work and found some interesting info. Berkey is made by another company doulton apparently.
So I found them here: http://www.h2odistributors.com/gravity-filters.asp
I bought one Ill have to look at the box in my garage but it may have been the AquaCera. But its been fantastic. Need to buy somemore candles for it, but the water is great. My wife didn’t like it as first as the water was so much different. It was just strange, then I started to notice how much odor and chlorine there was in our city water. now were spoiled with just plain water. No funny smells, or taste. Very happy with the system, be it doulton, aquacera, berkey I think you will be happy.
I did have one problem with my spout and called h20distributor. They were very friendly and took care of me in a hurry. Shipping the part out asap no charge no hassle. Now I would suggest anyone thinking of these for emergencies, purchase an extra spout and plenty of extra candles. Other than that you wont be unhappy.
