The great thing about Pappabear’s job is he stops in gun stores all over the place and brings us back wonderful toys. 
He came across these 16" Bergara barrels. Bergara is the Spanish Hoity Toity Barrel manufacturor noted for using high quality SS. Shilen helped them set up their MFG process.
I’ve never heard of or seen these at any of the usual shops or online AR dealers.
They’re 1/8 twist, Wylde chambered.
Ports measured .063" which is a good sign…

Im going to sell an upper off our “camo gun”. Thats what we call it, Mark posted a pic of it a while back. And build an upper off one of these. And just hang on to the other till we burn a barrel out on something.
The fit and finish looks amazing and the rifling looks like glass. Pretty cool. Marks ordered some BCM low pro’s, so hopefully in time we can give a range report. Mark also found some you tube runs of the Bergara steel manufacturing process that we watched, pretty interesting. We said, “oh shit, we might have something here”.

Bergaras are pretty damn good (both the blanks and finished barrels).
Nice score! I have read good things about their 10/22 barrels on Rimfire Central.
I’ll be very interested to read the range report, after you guys shoot it.
My goal is just to keep Pappabear from selling off both of them. He’s gone insane over the last few days.

I just saw them listed somewhere (PRI maybe) and wondered how they rated. They seemed reasonably price.

They claim to be. I have never seen a finer finish. The lining looks like glass. Range report in 24 hrs.

It looks like on Bergarausa’s site that the thing is indeed Nitride finished. Some uppers and a rail are inbound but with Christmas and all the Panic buying, it may be the weekend after next before we shoot one of these.
I have never seen an AR barrel by them but their other barrels are top notch. I have used several in the past and they rival any current mfg. for quality and accuracy.
