Beretta M9 on "GI Factory"

This particular show has been out for a while but this is the first time I’ve seen the episode with Beretta. The factory was pretty impressive, especially all the computerized tools that check manufacturing tolerances and do all the machining.

One thing I found interesting; according to the narrator the Bruniton finish is cured at 850 degrees Celsius. That’s over 1500 degrees F. Did he get his facts wrong or is that actually correct?

As one who’s worked in an aluminum casting plant that temp will do odd things to many metals like make them melt fairly quick.

But, it could be a “flash” cure.

Did he mention how long they were exposed to that temperature?

I think it was 30 minutes.

Well I think he got his "F"s and "C"s mixed then.

And maybe more because 30mins is into heat treat realm at 850deg F.
