Anyone had a chance to try one of these out?
i had a 1201 FP. I’m not sure what a 1301 is.

Bump… Anyone have some experience with this sg?
Beretta rep brought one out to the last Indiana Multigun event. I am extremely impressed. Only thing I heard most guys say is put a long tube on it.
Don’t think you will be putting a long tube on it! GH
why not? the one the rep had out was the 24in model with a 7+1 tube from Choate. Nordic is working on a Beretta Tube nut to work with their extensions.
My bad JW. I put thousands of rounds down range through 390/391 series guns and wrongly assumed the new guns used the same piston system. GH
Nope. Different setup.
I saw one of these at the store yesterday and it looked bad ass!
Does anyone know if you can adjust the stock up and down, I forgot what the technical term is.
Adjustable Comb?
Didn’t appear to have that according to Beretta just an adjustable LOP
No, it didn’t appear to be adjustable.
It’s a Beretta shotgun, IMO they’re much nicer to shoot than Benellis, though the recoil seems pretty intense for a semi-auto gas system… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i3Layp5c-Jk
Otherwise you won’t go wrong, only downside is lack of available parts/modifications.
I would have bought that gun, but I saw a slightly used Benelli Super Black Eagle and bought that instead.
I plan on tricking it out with some parts from Nordic. For now it will be my loaner shotgun when I go shoot clays.
Anyone had a chance to handle the new 1301 Tactical w/18.5" barrel?
Since this thread isn’t too old, I’ll add on to it.
I picked up the 1301 Comp with the 24" barrel. There are quite a few differences between the Comp and Tactical, but the gas system is the same. The gas system is also identical to the A400 Xtreme, which is very similar to the A391 Xtrema series shotguns (NOT the AL391 Urika series). So with this, there are multiple companies making extended magazine tubes that fit it. I added a Briley +6 to mine for use in 3gun. Beretta calls this new gas system the “Blink” system. Not sure what all is different between this and the A391 system is, but it’s very fast. I don’t remember what my splits were, but I can’t outrun the trigger.
It uses the new Beretta Optima HP chokes which is also the same as the A400, but is a different choke than the A391. From a question earlier, they DO come with different shims to adjust both drop and cast. Another thing I really like about the 1301 Comp is that they have a mid bead on a raised rib and a fiber optic up front. I had to increase my drop shim by 5mm but got the mid bead and front bead to align perfectly with a natural cheek weld. Slugs hit POA at 50 yards, standing, unsupported, no problem.
I also have an A400 Xtreme. For me, the A400 comes with a pretty long LOP. I had to take out a buttstock spacer for it to feel more natural. The 1301 comes with a 13" LOP which allows me to shoulder it much faster than my A400 with stock spacer or my M2 (not sure of the LOP on the M2).
The forearm is, of course, much longer than the one on my M2. It feels much more natural for me, closer to how I’d hold an AR. This also offersThe texture on the forearm and pistol grip is very aggressive, which I love. It reminds me of my VZ Operator II grips I have on my 1911.
One downside is that it only comes with 1 choke, flush IC. But since it uses the same choke as my A400 Xtreme, I have a variety of extended chokes to play with. I think I’ll be using the extended IC and LM the most as both grouped slugs very nicely.
Another highlight of this shotgun is the loading port area. Both the Comp and Tac feature slightly extended lifters to avoid finger pinching. On the comp, the loading port has even been beveled to open it up and allow for faster reloading.
Any update? I got to handle one of these in person the other day and really liked it. I wanted to see if I could fire the 4 shots in a second they claim, but the gal behind the gun counter said I couldn’t do that… ![]()
I’ve shot several matches with is so far and absolutely love it. I’ve had ZERO issues with it and it shoots slugs way better than my Benelli M2 ever did. In fact, I ended up sharing it with two other guys at the last match who both had brand new Mossberg JM Pros that crapped out on them. I think it can hold 9 or 10 rounds in the magazine and it can definitely empty it in a hurry. I’ll see if I can put a time to that claim tomorrow. But I’m 100% sold on the gun.
Nice! The price point on these seems to hover around $1,000 or so (+/- $100).
Did you put a Nordic extension on? If so, 9 or 8?
Here’s a plethora of information.
