I’m new to trusts and i will be getting my trust soon but got a few question
can Benificiaries not be an immidiate family member? can it be a trusted friend, or sibling(s) residing in a different country? do they have to know that they are my benificiary?

Since a trusts primary function is to distribute personal holdings after your death (and that of other trust members) Yes is the answer to your question regarding non-family members. Think of it as your last will and testament.
